Sessions did not resume until June 22, but all backing tracks and most of the album would be recorded by the end of the week. Two days later, " The Fever" was recorded in one take, then discarded and not included on the album. ![]() Recording began on May 14, 1973, with the day spent on "Circus Song", which would be finished on June 28, and re-titled "Wild Billy's Circus Story". In the 2020 updated version of Rolling Stone's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time, the album was ranked at number 345. On November 7, 2009, Springsteen and the E Street Band played the album in its entirety for the first time during a concert at Madison Square Garden. Once Springsteen achieved nationwide popularity with Born to Run, several selections from this album became popular FM radio airplay and concert favorites. Locally, though, the album sold well, was played regularly on Northeast AOR stations, and did make Springsteen a local phenomenon. It includes the song " Rosalita (Come Out Tonight)", the band's most-used set-closing song through 1985.Īs with Springsteen's first album released earlier in the year, The Wild, the Innocent & the E Street Shuffle was well-received critically but had little commercial success at the time, nationally. It was recorded by Springsteen with the E Street Band at 914 Sound Studios, Blauvelt, New York, and released on November 5, 1973, by Columbia Records. The Wild, the Innocent & the E Street Shuffle is the second studio album by American rock singer-songwriter Bruce Springsteen. ![]() The other myth that tends to circulate is that coronation chicken was chosen as a budget-friendly option that home cooks could easily replicate: a recipe that struck the balance between “luxury and austerity” in postwar Britain. They settled on a cold chicken dish in a creamy, mildly curried sauce that, on the day, was washed down with Krug champagne. “They needed to come up with dishes that were real crowd-pleasers, quite impressive but not budget breaking, and things that they could prepare without a kitchen,” says Gray. The menu needed to be suitable for a “large number of guests of varying and unknown tastes”, in Spry’s words. The luncheon was served in the Great Hall of Westminster School, which had limited cooking facilities. It was created with practicality in mind. “I think we can credit for it pretty much all on her own.” Food for a crowd “ came up with the dish and then two days later she said it had been inspired by a canapé in Mrs De Salis’ cookbook Savouries à la Mode, which I’ve looked at, and it bears very little resemblance,” says food historian Dr Annie Grey. Constance Spry, the society florist in charge of organising the luncheon, also played a part, although she didn’t have quite as important a role as she is often given credit for. Instead, Poulet Reine Elizabeth was created by Rosemary Hume and her students at Le Cordon Bleu cookery school in London specifically for the coronation banquet for visiting dignitaries. Others mistakenly say it was made to be served to the Queen (it wasn’t). Where did it come from? One common origin theory is that coronation chicken was based on a recipe created for George V’s Silver Jubilee. In the 70 years since, it has gone from a luxury fit for dignitaries, to a lurid 1970s staple, to an enduringly popular supermarket sandwich filling and a regular fixture on bad buffets. They were served Poulet Reine Elizabeth: a dish that is now better known as coronation chicken. ![]() On June 2 1953, at two o’clock in the afternoon, 350 foreign dignitaries sat down to tuck into the Coronation luncheon after Queen Elizabeth II was crowned. ![]() However, you won't be able to move your King into a position where it'll be in check. If any of the above apply, you can use doxygen's tag file mechanism. If the author requires compliance with some license condition as a precondition of redistribution, and you do not want to be bound by those conditions, referring to their copy of their documentation is preferable to including a copy. When the author forbids redistribution, this is necessary. If the external package and its documentation are copyright someone else, it may be better - or even necessary - to reference it rather than include a copy of it with your project's documentation. Availability: For some projects that are documented with doxygen, the sources may just not be available. By dividing the sources into several "packages", the sources of one package can be parsed by doxygen, while all other packages that this package depends on, are linked in externally. Memory: For very large source trees, letting doxygen parse all sources may simply take too much of your system's memory. It does not make much sense to let doxygen parse the sources for these external project over and over again, even if nothing has changed. Compilation speed: External projects typically have a different update frequency from your own project. You may want to link to these pages instead of generating the documentation in your local output directory. ![]() ![]() If your project depends on external libraries or tools, there are several reasons to not include all sources for these with every run of doxygen: Disk space: Some documentation may be available outside of the output directory of doxygen already, for instance somewhere on the web. It's probably possible to play them on keyboard just fine, but I don't think it would be half as enjoyable p.The Playstation 2 is still the king of best selling game consoles at over 155 million units (just barely beating out the Nintendo DS).Īnd with nearly 2000 game titles in its library, there is no shortage of awesome content to keep you busy for a lifetime. which is really important for some of the more epic fights, also the keyboard can be actually used to type with nuvee usb plugin(through since the servers are down it's useful only for typing character name p). ![]() There are also some PS2 games I'm totally lazy to play without pad, mostly those which use right analog for some crazy stuff for example Steambot Chronicles which has funny bot controls that uses both analogs to walk(I can imagine it would be stupid/confusing on Xbox pad as well, hopefully I use logitech which is pretty much a DS2 clone with xinput<3 p) or Monster Hunter which uses right analog for actual attacks while still abusing all other keys for item usage, blocks, running etc. Right analog: have that doubled at 4/5/6/8 on the numeric pad and depending on game around left analog ie h/u/o/ įor games that require moving the stick around very fast I simply set a glowPIE script activated with shift and have it easier than on actual pad p.Īnd I actually prefer this^ setting to actual pad, mostly cause I use just use this on pretty much any emulator from very long time and many console games which I bought pc versions for modding(ie FF7/8) and got used to.įor shooters if the above doesn't work too well I either use pad and play as it was ment to or set wsad as left analog, mouse as right analog(but set in non-inverted looks p) and other keys depending on the actual game to resemble pc shooters, in some cases it works better but generally I'm used to shooting on pad as well and also mouse set as pad doesn't really work so well as mouse should and I usually try to avoid using it to keep both hands on keyboard p. ![]() Honestly, I might even like this telling of the Red Hood tale more than the original. At one point he literally locks the current Robin (Tim Drake) in a cell to prevent him from trying to take on Scarecrow, and so his rival turning out to be the Robin he let die is more than a little appropriate. The entire game is about Batman pushing away his friends when they try to help him because he deems it too dangerous. Batman convinces Todd he can be redeemed, and he intervenes to help later in the game after Scarecrow unmasks Batman as Bruce Wayne for the world to see.Īs a self-contained story, infusing Under the Red Hood with Rocksteady’s universe works really well. In their climactic battle, Batman rips off his faux-bat mask to reveal a sub-helmet that looks quite a bit like the Red Hood mask, and obvious nod from Rocksteady. Joker reveals that he simply brainwashed Todd and didn’t kill him, and in the game, Todd wants quite literally nothing but to see Batman suffer and eventually die. The Arkham Knight is a twisted variant of the Red Hood. There’s also a variant of this tale told in the more recent Hush story, where Todd is a fake-out for another masked villain (who weirdly also shows up in Arkham Knight). He tries to kill Joker who murdered him the first time, and also has it in for Batman for leaving him to die. There too, his identity is a mystery until it’s revealed that Ra’s al Ghul resurrected Todd in a Lazarus Pit, but it didn’t take and he went insane. Joker’s hallucination would have been a big enough clue on its own, but I, like many Batman fans, am familiar with Under the Red Hood, a Batman story that has Jason Todd killed by the Joker (as occurred in a previous story, Death in the Family) and return from the grave to wreak havoc on both Batman and the Gotham underworld. ![]() At that point, I knew where things were headed, and I wasn’t wrong. During a main mission about two-thirds of the way through the story, the in-my-head Joker taunted Batman by showing him an elaborate flashback about when he executed Jason Todd, Batman’s second Robin. Ahead of launch, Rocksteady promised the Arkham Knight was a wholly original creation they cooked up in collaboration DC, so that had fans excited about the potential of the reveal.Īs it turns out, they weren’t being entirely truthful. The entire game is focused on a pair of villains, the familiar Scarecrow and the unfamiliar Arkham Knight, an armored Batman clone who has no problem using firearms and commands a drone/merc army that swarms Gotham as Scarecrow devises his plan to drown everyone in fear gas for the millionth time.įor the duration of the game, the Arkham Knight’s identity is a big mystery to everyone, Batman included, and no amount of Alfred’s research turns up anything even resembling a clue as to who he may be. The first and most obvious ending of Arkham Knight, the story ending, is bound to be controversial in its own right. ![]() Necessary cookies are absolutely essential for the website to function properly. Int semget(key_t key, int nsems, int semflg) To get a semaphore you need to use “semget()” system call. We shall learn about semaphores by taking series of simple steps and then taking a full example. So to solve this problem we should use semaphores to avoid the race condition. In this chapter we shall learn about System V semaphore. System V semaphore are the older version and POSIX semaphore API which are newer version. Now, we have 2 different API to use semaphores. The validity of this confidence interval depends on the WoRMS database and the ANSP collection not having correlated weaknesses. Overall marine molluscan diversity is estimated at 43,600 ± 900 species, where 900 is a 95% confidence interval. The WoRMS database has about 1,200 duplicate or extraneous listings for mollusk species and is missing about 1,300 (3%). Random samples of names were scored for presence or absence in WoRMS, with standard errors calculated from the binomial distribution. I assessed the completeness of molluscan species listings in the World Register of Marine Species (WoRMS) by comparing it to a standardized inventory of the species represented in the Malacology collection of the Academy of Natural Sciences of Philadelphia (ANSP). Comprehensive lists of species are valued as a basis for systematic revisions and for comparing diversity across taxa, but it is less appreciated that they also provide a means for statistical sampling of biodiversity databases. Ultimately the best way to gauge diversity is explicit enumeration: actual listing of known species. Most estimates are unverifiable, not being based on reproducible methods. Modern estimates of species-level diversity in the recent Mollusca range from 34,000 to 120,000 described species, with total diversity including undescribed species often cited as 200,000. For practical reasons, only games that had an international or at least an English-language release are included in the following list. ![]() Herein we number some of these appearances and take the opportunity to discuss the real-world inspirations that probably originated these 16-bit representations. ![]() Mollusks showing up in 16-bit era games were naturally part of underwater scenery art, but some were given fairly important roles as memorable characters, plot devices, fierce antagonists and fearsome bosses. Higher resolution allowed for digital artists to depict characters and draw backgrounds with richer detail. In the late 80s, the so-called fourth generation of consoles (the 16-bit era) began, and with it, many vividly colored games came to be (Kent, 2001). In modern culture, more specifically in the history of video games, the presence of mollusks is a remarkable one. They are present in ordinary objects, such as stamps and coins (Robertson, 2011 Todd, 2011). Naturally, in our everyday lives, some of us portray mollusks and their shells in paintings and decoration. It is not surprising that they were, and still are an important part of different cultures everywhere. Used as currency, tools, jewelry, medicine, and extensively collected and depicted in many different ways, mollusks are strongly tied to human history. These soft-bodied and most often shell-bearing animals present a wide variety of shapes, colors and behaviors that has fascinated mankind for ages. Humanity has described more than 80,000 species of snails and slugs (gastropods), clams, oysters and scallops (bivalves), squids and octopuses (cephalopods), tusk shells (scaphopods) and their less-known kin (e.g., polyplacophorans and aplacophorans), and many more are waiting to be discovered (Chapman, 2009). Mollusks are one of the most diverse groups of organisms known to science. |
